About Bert Arnold
Bert Arnold’s main drive in life and in art is curiosity. He wants to know how things work ever since he was a child. His sources of inspiration are science, symbolism and philosophy. The sources are nurtured by different facets of his life. He has a Master degree in Physics and chose this line of studies to be able to understand everything from a zipper or a bottle opener to the Big Bang Theory. His interest in philosophy and symbolism is influenced by the fact that he is a Freemason. He states that he started painting static images of movements, his first painting was a static picture of the Lorenz Attractor. After some time he was able to incorporate real movement by adapting his physical movements while painting.
From 1994 he works in thematic series.
